Robert 'Pops' Montgomery is a 50 year musician-bandleader, whose background includes small group quartet performances through big jazz band conducting. Having lived through the hard fought east coast jazz wars, he sharpened his musical skills in the mid-1960's as an

arranging-composition diploma student at the country's premiere contemporary jazz school - at the time called - the 'Berklee School of Music' in Boston, Massachusetts. His classmates included many youthful performers of the day... Ken Stanley, Mike Price, and Pete Farmer on trumpets, Keith Jarrett and Ray Santisi, the dueling pianists, Gary Burton on vibraphone, Calvin Hill on bass, with constant ensemble visits by the likes of  Quincy Jones, big jazz band directors, Ken Stanton and Harry James.

Having lived through this wide-experienced  background, his desire to live in peace in his final years have been severely threatened, by men who wear the crown of sanctity, by 'foreign chains' uncontrolled by human hands, and by an unfulfilled 'life without love'.  These are the trials that have lead Mr. Montgomery to the PALACE OF JAZZ PERFORMANCE.
